Privacy
This is a personal website, run by me, Omid Sayfun, from Amsterdam. There is no company behind it, no data team, no legal department — just me, mostly in the evenings. This page says what happens with your data. If anything here is unclear, email me at hi@omiid.me and I'll answer myself.
If you give me your email
Some pages here ask for your email so I can send you something. When you submit one of those forms, I store your email together with which page and which ad or headline brought you there, so I know what's worth writing more of.
That data goes into the tools I run the site with: the automation and notification tooling that keeps track of signups, the email service that delivers what you asked for, and my server logs. Most of these tools are self-hosted — they run on my own infrastructure and I look after them myself. I don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or add you to anything you didn't ask for.
You'll get the email you asked for, and I might send one personal follow-up to ask how it went — I genuinely read the replies. That's it. No drip campaigns (I'd have to build one first, and I have enough side projects). If you reply asking me to delete your email, I will, everywhere it landed.
Analytics and cookies
By default this site stores nothing on your device. I use PostHog to see which pages get read and which ones only I think are good; until you say otherwise it runs without any cookie or local storage.
PostHog also records how the page is used: scrolling, clicks, and navigation, replayed as a session recording. Anything you type into a form is masked before it leaves your browser. Without consent the recording is not tied to a persistent id, so it ends when you close the tab.
The consent banner controls the rest. If you allow measurement, PostHog may keep an anonymous id in your browser's local storage so I can tell returning visitors from new ones. If you allow marketing, an ads pixel from X (Twitter) may load so I can tell whether the ads I run actually work. If you decline, neither happens — the pixel isn't even loaded.
You can change your mind any time: .
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hi@omiid.me and I'll sort it out — for a site this size that usually takes a day, not thirty (let's officially say seven, in case that week the day job and life gang up on me). I keep signup data only for as long as it's useful for the thing you signed up for; if you ask me to delete it, it goes everywhere it's held. If you think I'm mishandling your data, you have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens — but I'd appreciate the chance to fix it first.
